Mission Statement

To represent a unified voice, formed by consensus, advocating for a fair, responsible and regulated free-market cannabis industry in Maine, being simultaneously considerate of the needs of our local businesses, the economy of our State, the safety of our public and the values of our communities.

Association Meetings

MCIA hosts quarterly and annual meetings to discuss the issues impacting our members and to set strategic goals for the association. During Maine’s legislative session, we also hold weekly meetings to keep our members informed and engaged on critical developments. We understand that the cannabis industry faces a wide range of challenges — including state tax rates, licensing fees, prohibitive regulations, and other complex, operator-specific concerns. Our meetings provide members a platform to collaborate, advocate, and shape the future of Maine’s cannabis industry.

Weekly Updates

MCIA’s government relations team at Maine Street Solutions will send a weekly digital legislative update to all members. Stay informed about what is happening in Augusta – know what issues are being debated and know when all important legislative hearings will occur.

Events

MCIA hosts educational sessions and special events focused on the key issues facing Maine’s cannabis businesses. Topics include zoning and regulatory changes, licensing requirements, tax compliance, testing and labeling standards, inventory tracking, and more. These events are designed to keep members informed, prepared, and connected with industry experts and policymakers.
